THE PRACTICAL DETAILS / PRIVACY

Your information.
Handled with care.

Useful Models is operated by Toby Wright as a sole trader. This notice explains how information from this website is used.

Who is responsible?

Toby Wright, trading as Useful Models, is the controller of the personal information you provide through an enquiry. For questions about your information or to exercise your rights, contact Toby through the enquiry form.

When you make an enquiry

We collect your name, email address, company if supplied, and the message you send. We use these details to respond, arrange a conversation and consider the work you are asking about. Please do not send passwords, confidential documents or sensitive personal information.

We rely on our legitimate interests in responding to relevant business enquiries and operating the consultancy. Where you ask us to take steps towards a contract with you personally, processing may also be necessary for those pre-contractual steps. We do not sell your details or automatically subscribe you to marketing.

How enquiries are delivered

Cloudflare hosts the website and runs the form handler. Cloudflare Turnstile checks submissions for automated abuse. Resend processes the email delivery, and our receiving email provider stores the resulting correspondence. These providers process information as needed to supply their respective services.

The website does not create a separate database of enquiries. A successful submission means the email delivery service has accepted the message; it does not guarantee inbox delivery. We do not intentionally log enquiry contents in the website’s application logs.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not become client relationships are deleted from our enquiry records and receiving inbox after six months without further contact. Client records are handled separately according to the engagement and applicable record-keeping obligations.

Delivery and infrastructure providers may retain operational records for their own documented service and security periods. These are distinct from our inbox retention policy. Provider retention settings and deletion procedures must be maintained as part of operating the service.

Website measurement

We measure fixed events: clicks on enquiry links, starting the form, and enquiries accepted for email delivery. The analytics records contain only the event name and a count, with a timestamp supplied by the analytics system.

We do not include names, email addresses, message contents, IP addresses, device identifiers, page URLs or visitor IDs in those analytics records. There is no analytics cookie, advertising pixel, session recording or cross-site visitor profile. Counts describe events, not uniquely identified people.

Where enabled, Cloudflare Analytics Engine receives these aggregate events. Measurement is skipped when your browser sends a supported Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control preference. Failure of measurement does not stop an enquiry being delivered.

Security and infrastructure

Cloudflare and the email providers necessarily process connection information and service metadata to provide hosting, abuse prevention and delivery. This is different from the limited conversion events we choose to record. The security check is loaded when you approach the enquiry form, rather than on every visit to the top of the page.

Providers may process information outside the UK under their applicable data-processing terms and transfer safeguards. We do not promise UK-only processing. You can read the Cloudflare privacy policy and Resend privacy policy for their processing information.

The illustrative workflows

The document, data-chat and CRM examples contain fictional information. They do not upload your files, connect to your systems or send questions to an AI provider.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you can request access, correction, deletion or restriction of your information, object to processing, or request portability where applicable. Contact Toby using the details above. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

You can also raise a concern with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office.
